Thomas Charles
Brady, born in Cincinnati Ohio in 1944, has been drawn to
art since the ninth grade. He has lived in various
parts of the United States and now resides in
Arizona. For him art was a way of life and a way to
express himself. He is gifted not only in painting
and sculpture but has pursued commercial art,
jewelry design and crafting, furniture design and
building, landscape design and creation and has
built his own home. He has been gifted with
“artistic hands” and in 2004 suffered a stroke,
which paralyzed his entire right side. Known in the
art world as “T C”, he took on the disability that he
was challenged with and with sheer determination and
perseverance has overcome it and recently completed his
latest dream of building an F-5 mandolin. T C
studied at the St. Paul School of Arts, before
graduating in Studio Art and Art History from the
University of Minnesota.

THE ARTIST’S VIEW:
Art has always been a
part of my life and I feel fortunate to have been
able to pursue it actively and thru many venues. It
is a way of expressing who I am and how I view the
world as a whole. Although I have created many
aspects and forms of art my main focus of late has
been on “endangered species”. My concern is that our
lifestyles over the years have threatened our
environment and is causing a major change in our
world and in our future. It is thru my art that I
can share these animals with others and perhaps in
some small way I can make a difference.
My life-altering event
in 2004 has impacted and shown me “first hand” how
fragile and “endangered” life is for all of us in
some form or another. My background music, titled
“Into the Light”, by my dear friend and acoustical
guitarist Billy McLaughlin who has also experienced
a life-altering event is titled appropriately. May
we all in our own way take pause and think how in
some way we can come “Into the Light” and cause a
change in how we view and interact with each other
and our environment.
